Choosing which items to bring with you when you leave the house each morning is one of our favorite things to do. Our core EDC items are things that we know we could need at any time on any particular day; things like our wallets, cell phones, and keys, but there are always those extra items that you never know when you might need that we love to mix and match depending on what our schedules look like for the day.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wish that I had a knife on me throughout my every day adventures. Even though I work my nine to five at a desk throughout the week, there have still been many times where I’ve needed to open something or cut something, only to find myself searching endlessly for a scissors or a knife.

Keychains
What is the one thing you know you will need the second you shut your front door behind you? Your keys.
If you forget your keys at home and the door locks behind you, there’s a good chance you aren’t getting back into your house at the end of the day. Now, of course there are always ways to get back into your house using technology, but for the most part you’re going to be using your keys.
Keychains can be a great way to combine style and functionality in a compact space. Sometimes a simple carabiner is sufficient, but sometimes you want your keychain to also have a screwdriver or a bottle opener on it. You never know when you might need to crack a cold beer without a bottle opener in sight.

If you’re concerned about leaving your apartment without having a tool for almost every single possible scenario you might run into during the day, then a multi-tool is a great addition to your EDC bag.
Multi-tools are your best friend. They provide exactly what they say they do, multiple tools. Most people are familiar with the Leatherman, the most common multi-tool on the market, but there are an endless supply of practical and affordable products out there.
Multi-tools can come in everything from belts to bracelets to pens, and everything in between, and each has it’s own benefits and practicality. And despite the different form factors that these tools come in, they all will ensure that you have whatever tool you may need for any situation you could possibly run into during your daily life.
